Yet another attempt to Poison the atmosphere

Murderous attack on factory manager mistaken as a Muslim and saved after telling his Hindu identity

Badhana/Muzaffarnager (SNB): Once again anti-social elements have attempted to poison the atmosphere. A factory manager travelling in a Shamli to Muzaffarnagar bus and mistaken as a Muslim was severely beaten by more than a dozen youths. Other passengers watched the incident as mute spectators. In a written statement to the police he says that he was spared only after telling the assailants that he was a Hindu.

Police is assuring to take strong action after the completion of their investigation. According to information Shiv Parkash Sharma, S/O Harishchand Sharma, hails from Jalalpur village of Safdarganj, District Barabanki, works as a manager at Feroze Ice Factory situated at Badhana Kotwali Road. He is fond of chewing paan. On Thursday Shiv Parkash went on a business trip to Shamli. While returning home at about 01 p.m. when the bus reached at the Lank bridge in Phagana area about half a dozen of youths standing at the back of the bus approached him and started searching his pockets and found a packet of paan. Calling him a Qureshi, the mischief makers started beating him with knives and pistols (and also had quality gun accessories along with it) and dragged him down out of the bus. During this havoc the driver tried to accelerate and run away from there. Later the manager’s life however was saved when he told the assailants that he was a Hindu and then he got in the bus and returned home. Police say that the incident happened in Phagana area yet investigation is being done and strong action will be taken against those accused. The injured has been hospitalised.
